This Saturday is to be our annual Western Day.

Many of you enjoyed Lanny Joe Burnett and his friends last year.  He will be back again with more stories and songs.  www.lannyjoe.com

Allen & Diane Thompson from Channig (way up in the Panhandle, past Amarillo) will be here with their chuck wagon.  Weather permitting.

Tentative plans are to serve a breakfast of eggs, sausage, blueberry pancakes and coffee.  Lunch will be barbecue sandwiches.  Come and enjoy the atmosphere.

This is our educational day.

Andrea Offner, Director of the Birdsong Center and gardener will present two programs that day – one at 10 a.m. and one at 1 p.m.

The first class is called “This Class is For the Birds”.  You will enjoy this lively talk about some of our feathered friends that are common to the Prairie and Cross-Timbers Eco-region.  Find out how to attract them to your yards.  Hands-on activities and live music will be included.  All ages are welcome.  There will be a $5 supply charge for everyone over the age of 12.

The second class is called “Wildscaping for Butterflies!”.  Enjoy this unique way of teaching folks about the best ways to entice “living flowers” into your yards!  Hands-on activities and live music will be included.  This is for the young and the young at heart!  There will be a $5 supply charge for everyone over the age of 12.

Bob Collins – a student of American history from the time of the Indian Wars thru WW 11 will be giving a program complete with demonstrations on the Battle of Little Big Horn.
