Hey folks! How about a farm update?
We are looking at a good Berry season approaching us here shortly. We sure wish it would rain! The storms are splitting when they hit around 377 and going around us. Happy to not have the nasty stuff that went with the storms around us.
Without good rain for the last month, it changes the predictability for the flowers and even somewhat the berries. Everything is weather related friends, but we do our best to predict the best we can about when crops will be ready. We think it will be around the last week of May for the berries and closer into first/middle June and throughout the month for both sunflowers and berries.
As always, I will have the crop meter on our website @ www.txberry.com available on our open days. I am updating our website to reflect this post as we speak.
As for covid-19 precautions, we will be changing up some things about our season.
We will be open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 8am-12pm only. We are encouraging the picking to happen quickly and safely. Some of our farm fun equipment won’t be available, but families may still feed the fish while they are here and do the fossil dig!. The containers we will be using will be take home containers, so we won’t need to touch your berries. Working on something similar for flowers and produce.
Our cafe will be closed this season, due to our shorter hours.
We will also be picking lots of berries ourselves here on the farm for pre-picked orders. If you feel uncomfortable about getting out, or are high risk, we will try to accommodate you as best as we can this summer.
Photography sessions that are planned in the evenings are still good to go.
Please understand and respect our hours. We cannot open the farm to you if you show up after hours or on days that we are closed. Please, please, please check our Facebook or website before driving long distances.
We are ready for a different, but always VERY FUN BERRY AND FLOWER season coming up!
